JM Photography was born from the love to experience the world through the eye of camera. I didn’t start off shooting people, but instead I was captivated by the architecture of Washington DC, while I was stationed there almost 20 years ago. From there, my passion for photography grew from capturing special moments for those I loved and cared about. I was always the family member or friend that brought along their camera and then shared the photos with everyone. My interest in fashion and portrait photography started a couple years ago after joining Columbus Editorial Society. Being part of such an amazing collaborative experience gave me the knowledge and experience to see photography from a completely different perspective. I love working with my clients to create moments they can cherish forever. It’s amazing how special the world can look through the scope of your favorite lens.

I was born in Paterson NJ to two immigrant parents from Colombia. At the age of 3 we moved to the an unknown place called Columbus Ohio, where we eventually settled in the quaint community of Worthington. After high school I joined the US Navy, where as a Corpsmen (Medic) I was able to serve with some of the finest people I know today. It was an absolute honor to serve our nation and I wouldn’t be where I am today without that experience.

After leaving the Navy with my degree in Healthcare Administration I joined the Healthcare Insurance industry where I still work today. I love my job and the people I have built a relationships with over the last decade.

Lastly, but definitely not least, I have 3 beautiful children and an amazing wife who is there by my side supporting me while I dedicate so much time and effort doing something I love. Without them none of this would be possible. Now lets get out there and make some forever memories and capture them for you to enjoy for decades to come. Thank you.
